TV Death are a Newcastle-based psych-punk band with a unique sound. Their latest track, ‘Village Mentality’, is a creepy combination of horror-pop and post-punk, featuring dark lyrics delivered with a sharp abrasiveness that sit at the centre of its interesting sonic palette. “During the time of writing it, many newspapers were blaming the issues of the country on immigration,” they explain. “There was a growing unrest toward minority groups in some circles and in some small towns, which heavily inspired the premise. The song's story follows one of these hateful news cycles as the villagers wake up to eagerly point their finger after seeing the headlines.” The band have released their debut EP, The God, The One and The Devil, today (September 27th, 2023).
